Halfway through the semester, during the second unit of my pop culture class, we discussed and read an article about "What is Pop Culture?" In my own words, pop culture is the everyday stuff most people like songs, movies, famous artists, events, and places. It shows what our society is all about and influences what will be popular in the future. Pop culture is all around us, from morning to night. It's the fun stuff we enjoy and talk about every day, and that's why I want to learn more about it.

Next, we learned about "Trends" and "Fads." Trends are things that last for a while, like smartphones. Fads are things that become famous quickly but don't last long, like short-lived fashion. So, trends endure, and fads disappear quickly. The pop star project was one of my favorite projects. I chose Steph Curry as my pop star because, in my opinion, he is the G.O.A.T. He works hard and has a great personality. In 6th grade, he motivated me to start playing basketball and improve. Steph Curry will always be my favorite pop star. The TED talk was a bit challenging for me because I didn't fully understand the video I watched. I recognize that I should pay more attention to TED talks.

Lastly, the team project was also one of my favorites. I enjoyed how we could share and learn from our teammates. We covered the years 2020-2023, which was challenging because other groups had ten years to research, while we only had three. Nonetheless, we finished the project and achieved a good score. In the end, I realized that I should focus more on the class and less on my phone.
